Pure fire from Cabin Fever UK, bringing to you the level vibes of the Can You See Me/Gets No Rougher single on Natty Dub. The release sees the launch of the Natty Dub Label, and begins the label’s quest to deliver the best and freshest in reggae-derived jungle sounds. The Cabin Fever duo, Malachai Nightbreed and Voltage, have EPs forthcoming on Grid and Dread Recordings but unleash their sound initially on their own Natty Dub imprint.
After deejaying and performing throughout Europe and the UK over the past 3 years, it is a fine time for Cabin Fever to kick things off with the Natty Dub label. Support has come from BBC Radio 1 and 1xtra, Grooverider, Hazard, Mampi Swift, Blade Runner, Savage Rehab, and many more, and you can also catch them on their fortnightly d&b radio show on originuk.net.
Can You See Me opens in full-on dub mode, with huge horn effects leading into a bass-driven main section with a nod to classic jungle territory, but more than an eye on the future. Things get wound up a notch later on, as more levels are dropped into the mix, making for a rump- shaking good time tune, which will have waists decidedly winded on ‘floors up and down the nation.
Natty Dub have the firm intention to bring some of the party back to drum & bass, and their success is guaranteed with tracks such as Gets No Rougher. Doing something different with a well-known sample to kick things off, we are firmly in good hands as things are lead into a bass- driven drop with some warped piano alongside.
So keep an eye on the distinctive label art which will be accompanying the releases, and get ready for Natty Dub and Cabin Fever UK.
