NATTY061

Man like K Jah has been hard at work in the studio for all of 2020 / 2021, providing the stay at home raving massive with hit after hit. His latest (and possibly greatest) release comes in the form of a 12 track album with 2 samplers to wet your audio appetite. The aptly named ‘Ravers Delight’ LP is a monster of a release for Natty Dub Recordings so strap in and hold tight!

Sampler one included ‘Status Concrete’ featuring the vocals of Natty D. A full on attack of the sublow senses wrapped around some tidy rhymes and simplistic breaks. Flip over the double A side to ‘In Love’ and you’re instantly presented with some luscious pads mixed into pitch bent bass, not forgetting that well known vocal sample..

Vytol joins the Lp for ‘Life Support’ and continues the flow of bent up pitch melodies like its 2005 all over again. This is backed up by ‘Ominous’ which is nothing short of a creepy little rollout. Horror chords and vocal shots scatter all over the intro before proceedings get darkside; certainly one for the corner surfers. Sampler two over and out.

The full LP has some other big highlights including the title track ‘Ravers Delight’ which calls on K Jah’s hardcore roots with an abundance of rave stabs, bubbling 808’s and four to the floor clap backs. ‘Philly Phunk’ put things into ‘95 style, layering horns over monotone bass stabs and clever reworking of jungle breaks.

What’s special about this release is that every single tune calls on different segments of the scene and K Jah’s obvious personal memories. If you fancy an education into the mind of one of Natty Dub’s most favourable producers then this is the release to bag.

Big value, big tunes and big basslines – what more could you ask for?
